WFF2015 - Lira in a Mess Hall

Camp Walden, Diamond Point, NY August 16-23, 2015 Don Bennett – http://health101.org/ Raw Food Our ancestors were slowly gathering fruits and plants to eat.  We need to emulate this pattern with eating mostly tropical fruits for calories and nutrition.  For minerals we need to eat greens and  other vegetable.  Emprasis on RAW is made for two main reason: (01) coking is destroying nutritional values of the food, and (02) cooked food is modified food.  That makes it a stranger in our digestive system. 80-10-10 Eating mostly fruits will dictate a certain ratio of where we getting out calories from.  That way we can  get 80% of our calories from carbohydrates (raw fruits);  10% from  protein and 10%…

Aug 24 FRI – Torre del Lago Puccini – Pisa and Agriturismo

12-30 Pommery Afar

Today is Friday. We woke up at 7:22, and had a luxury to gather our things slowly. No rush. No hurry. Our next stop is Villa Puccini that is 67 km away. We are now turning back South. Yesterday we reached our North-most point in the trip – Levanto. Today is a beginning of a new billing cycle on my Verizon account. At 08:37 (2:37AM in America) I am resetting my data counter on iPhone. Each 100 MB cost $25, and for the first 12 days of vacation I used up 90.6MB. Perfect. Now for the next 10 days in Italy I could use another 100MB. Why they make such a…

Moving Old ASP Sites to 2008 Server, IIS 7, and SQL 2008

By
IIS75-ASP-is-not-Installed

It was time to move many sites from W2K3 Server (Windows 2003 Server) and SQL 2000 Server to a new W2K8 Server (Windows 2008 Server) and SQL 2008 Server.  And if I ever have to do it again, I will check with these notes. The greatest secret in technical life (and may be wider) is to change before you have to.  Anticipate and change before circumstances force you.  For a long time I was planning this migration, but I didn’t expect to go through so many hurdles and error messages.  Luckily, I found solutions that seem logical and clean.  So, let’s go into step-by-step details. COPY DATABASE AND SITES – Backup…

Block Remote Comments on a WordPress site

Ban Remote Comments on a WordPress site

How to block remote comments on a WordPress site?   How indeed?   Here is a question for all of you – WordPress masters out there.   Right now I am a bit puzzled. Problem – Comments without Visits I am noticing that people are posting a spam comments in a very tricky way.  Somehow comments arrive with Site URL field populated, but I do not even have that field on the “Leave a Comment” form. It means that there is an automated way to send a comment without actually visiting the site.  Is it true?  I am searching all over the Internet right now. Looks like there is a product out there called CxxGxx. …

Monterosso al Mare - Seashore

[…in progress…] Our bus to the train station was scheduled for 09:10, so we woke up at 07:30 and went down to have a large free breakfast. Fruits and eggs, and several cornetti (croissants).  Very good. At the front desk I did buy  2 LEVANTO – LA SPAZIA unlimited one day train tickets with rights to use the Park trails (€10×2 = €20 cash). Five for usage of the park, and five for unlimited rides between La Spezia and Levanto. We took a free hotel-provided shuttle at 09:10 to La Spezia train station, and at 09:26 I already validated the tickets in one of the yellow machines on the platform.  Single…

Macros to “Paste as Text” for Word and Excel

Macros to “Paste as Text” for Word and Excel

These two macros will save you a lot of time.  They used, when you need to copy something from Internet page into a Word or Excel document, but  you do not need all the colors and formatting.   You just need the text. Usually you would do this with Paste Special, but this is several awkward clicks and many seconds lost.  Over the course of the day this is a huge inefficiency. Let’s write a macro for Word first. As of 2012-01-11 WED, I adopted this little macro as final version: Sub PasteText() On Error GoTo Unicode Selection.PasteSpecial Link:=False, DataType:=wdPasteText, _ Placement:=wdInLine, DisplayAsIcon:=False GoTo Done Unicode: Selection.PasteAndFormat (wdFormatPlainText) Done: End Sub This macro…
