Game Results 2010-10-23 SAT – Wednesday Situation and Lost Items

Last Wednesday we did not have enough players.  We still played, but nothing official.  We stopped around 18:25.  For this coming Wednesday please identify your intention to play.  It will be the LAST Wednesday evening game before switch to Winter time.  Lost and found are at the bottom of this message. Today we played from 09:35 to 11:02 and we had exactly 22 people on the field (scary and magical).  DARKs collected under one roof Sasha L., Lesha Zh.,  Georgi, Kolya P. and Max.  It is only natural DARKs were leading at one point 0:5 (10:30).  But the final score was nothing, but disappointing for both sides. Here are our top 15…

Game Results 2010-10-17 SUN

We started at 09:31, but Nelson got an early injury and was out of the game at once (09:36). First goal was scored only at 09:54 by Ruslan.   At 10:22 Stas M. shoots (2:5) and makes a three-point gap.  Yura D. makes a colorful return.  He played from 10:33 to almost 11 and introduced some element of hope into the WHITEs game. At 10:58 Igor Gr. sends the ball into the net to equalize, but goal is disallowed. What a dramatic turn of events!  Almost immediately Vlad U. and Igor Gr. exchanged 2 more goals – 6:5.  But this time it was too little, too late.  It was all was over…

Game Results 2010-10-16 SAT – The More Yelling, The More Mistakes

Today we played a quick game from 09:30 to 10:54.  Field recovered nicely after the rain.  WHITEs started with advantage 8×7, but played down by one for the last 20 minutes, when Kolya P. left and Lenia G. entered for DARKs. All the way to 6:6 the game was a balancing act between good and evil, but Amr and Kevin took the matter in their own hands and scored 3 goals in 4 minutes.  After that blow, it was hard to recover, despite a wonderful twist of goal from Alfred. Igor Gr. scored a decisive last goal in the very right corner.  He served a curved ball from the middle of the…

Game Results 2010-10-13 WED – Nebati 8 vs. DARKs 6 on Paper Goals

We played from 17:46 to 18:38.  Only 52 minutes, but intensity was there.  I compare this game with indoor match. We had 9 people and Max arrive late to be a goalkeeper without shoes.  We tried to equalize teams by changing the size of the goals.  Goals this time were made of bags, and gloves, and car keys. Under ideal circumstances we might have 2  or 3 more games.  So it is getting harder and harder to catch up with the leader. Game Results 2010-10-03 SUN – Lots of Pretty Passes and Goals

We are not changing anything yet about our Wednesdays.  But start thinking now about those dark and gloomy Wednesdays after work, when they turn on Winter time.  We will return to that topic of early morning Wednesday’s on October 31, and  I bet more people will be interested then. Today we started at 09:18. DARKs opened with 0:2 lead in a fully-loaded 12 on 12 game.  Goal number 2 assigned to Alex Z., but it was actually mostly Arnaud effort in front of the goals.  Anyone from DARKs can claim it.  Who did it? WHITEs continued with 7 goals, and it seemed like a done deal with 7:3 lead. Both Boris R.…

Game Results 2010-10-02 SAT – Why Did We Move Here?

We are separating routine day to-day notification, and steady stream of GAME RESULTS.  These messages here are only interesting for people who played that day.  Plus, some outsiders can also see their results, even if they are not the members yet. We played from 9:26 to 11:01 and a game was a constant tie till 6:6.  Vadim L. played number 12 for WHITEs and apparently he was that straw that breaks the camel’s back. Visiting Lesha Zh. from The League scored 4 goals himself and served 2 corner kicks on goal.  That is pretty amazing. Here are our top weekend goal scorers.  Boris Sh. has a comfortable lead, doubling 2 nearest contenders.…

Game Results 2010-09-29 WED – What if We Play in the Early Morning?

Dr. Yurik suggested a radical idea. What if we play on Wednesday mornings – say at 6:30am as the darkness chases us out of the filed in the evenings?  Something to think about. Author of goal number 6 for WHITEs is not recorded.  So Victor, or Stas or Mike Ph. can claim it.  For now, it is counted as Tim‘s goal. Today’s game was a classic form of bad to worse scenario.  DARKs were quickly up 1:8.  Then at 18:30 Igor Gr. switched for WHITEs replacing departed Christof.  But score continued to rise. We saw 2:10, then 3:12.  But game was nevertheless a success story.  At the very end, WHITEs rallied…

Game Results 2010-09-26 SUN – Large Score on Large Goals

11 people from Yahoo! Group visited GAME RESULTS yesterday. Let’s continue the experiment. 09:29 – We started this weekend game number six in a very unusual setting.  Our core people started on a smaller set of goals and the rest of the crew remained on a vast field with a real goals.  We started 6 on 6, but vacancies got filled very quickly to reach 11 on12.  The last arrival number 12 for DARKs – Garrick – cemented the defense, making it impossible to score. We can separate the game into 3 nice little segments.  At first, a total domination by WHITEs, and score fluctuated from 4:0 to 6:3. In segment…

Today is especially interesting to write about the game. Today we are trying to count, how many people are actually reading this timeless material.  Are WE the force to be reckon with, or just a fluke in the soccer history.  Yahoo! doesn’t provide any kind of statistics on activity in out Newton Pickup Soccer group.  So we have to do it this way.  And of course, in the next several posts I will tell you the results. Thank you to Kevin, and Matt, and Misha P., who waited on the sidelines, till we felt guilty and invited them in.  Once again, what a wonderful bunch of people! We played from 9:22 to…
