Vadim‘s orange T-short found. Oleg and Alex F. helped to clear large area in front of both goals.  We needed it, because we had 23 people today. Dr. Yurik will be most likely a new leader on a scoreboard after today’s victory. Lenia G. had a major mishap on and off the field today (I will apologize for him).    Everyone!  Next time something bad happens to you off the field, just yell and shout like Arnaud did, but do NOT kick other players in frustration.  With my own eyes I saw a $200 ticket, which on Masspike would translate into 90MPH?  On the bright side Lenia G. didn’t  get arrested for…

14 people played today in the snow. Weather was really cooperating lately. Snow perfectly spaced out to allow wind and sun to eliminate annoying white powder. Glory, glory the mild New England weather! Today was a record breaking non-stop game from 9:45 to 12:02. It was a perfect 137-minutes-long stretch. Tomorrow, as usual we will have more people and less show. Oleg suggested each and everyone to bring a shovel tomorrow (not to be confused with record-breaking Pawel), and clean a personal spot. Important point in today’s game was that we didn’t have WHITEs. WHITEs were so bad lately, that no one wanted to be a WHITE. Instead, we had Orange…

Game Results 2011-01-02 – Delightful Two-Hour-Play with No Intermission

Who is writing scripts for our games? It must be a really talented playwright. Yura D. is gathering his thoughts before an important move. He brings the camera to create lasting memories. He stays above and beyond the point, where he usually leaves and goes home. And he becomes the absolute epicenter of a final blowout finale. There is one spot on this dump called Skyline that is warm.  This spot is now snow-free, and it can accommodate a small 6-on-6 game.   So, what are we going to do with 20 people tomorrow?  Even with rain we will have plenty of people.  As Dr. Yurik said, if it is not pouring, we will be there. A reminder for Matt, who scored 4 goals today.  If you have a large unused bag of 6-7″ zip-ties, bring them in to keep the goals in decent shape.  We are losing them fast. Is it possible to dream up a better game, than today?    We got warm, sunny, green spot under…

The game was a success story for middle of winter in New England. But since November 20 WHITEs didn’t have much luck – one tie and four losses. Tomorrow is the last time this year we can satisfy Stas M. request to win. Today Oleg brought 7 new people, and we made a mistake of letting them pass in front of the goals. Plus, it was a star-game for Lenia Ch. who remained super strong all 104 minutes of the game.  Plus he reached a dream level of one goal per game. WHITEs looked strong on paper, but just couldn’t deliver. Let’s count both good luck and exquisite goalkeeping (Alex B.…

Game Results 2010-12-19 SUN Most Wonderful Green in December

Next Saturday is a holiday – December 25.  So if you are planning to play, send your notification on Friday night, right before going to bed. Hurray! Lesha K. lost his ball, and he was hoping that somebody picked it up.  We checked the premises very thoroughly. Today we returned to the most appropriate surface for the harsh Winter conditions.  This color of bright, evergreen grass is very pleasant for the oblique Winter background. Goals are there and lines are there, and 13 our people on the ground.  Wonderful and exciting Sunday morning.  There was a lot of space on the field, so passing was extremely important.  And WHITEs had an…

Game Results 2010-12-18 SAT Skyline Tomorrow plus Pictures Today

Warren Field, Newton, MA USA

Tomorrow we are set to play at Skyline.  There is a link (under Links) describing location and directions. Today we found a mossy spot, but it was rock-solid in the morning. And we had to use small “winter” goals. We started at 09:45 with a crew of 12.  Yura D. entered a few minutes later for loosing 0:2 WHITEs. As you can imagine, a 6×6 game is very dynamic and fast.  You can even compare it to an indoor game.  Every player must be constantly engaged with both defense and offense and most importantly with scoring.  DARKs were better with scoring and WHITEs were better with making mistakes. As a result,…

Game Results 2010-12-11 SAT – Stas Goes on a Strike; Brings an Impossible Closer

That was meant to be. Amr scored tons of goals for a losing team. And one has to decide, what is easier: bring my own team to a victory, or switch for winners and score one single goal. He switches (10:19) and immediately scores. Now he is guaranteed to get 2 points for the game. Either way. Right? Not so fast. But we have to admit that all his SIX goals were admirable. WHITEs were chasing DARKs all the way till 10:27. The score was nice and even 6:7. At this point Kolia P. scored 3 goals in 10 minutes and the score grew to 6:11. Now imagine you are Stas…

Game Results 2010-12-05 SUN – One Idiot and One Invalid

We started today on a chill Sunday morning at 09:28. First 5 goals were in one direction only. Vlad U. trice, Anzor and Lenia Ch. did the trick (0:5). An hour into the game WHITEs finally managed one goal (Vartan), but dynamic of the game didn’t change. Both sides had opportunities, but score only grew on one side of the board. At 11:15 people started to drift away, and the score reached a pretty 5:12 mark. At this point we started to count goals as a new game, but for this report we just added results together. The “second” game started with DARKs leading 1:3. But luck changed, and at 11:59:41…
